This year (2017), the first fertility show Kinderwunschtage took place in Berlin, Germany. It offered a space for people who are interested in fertility treatment to meet a large number of clinics, experts, patient networks and other relevant organisations in a single place. With over 1500 people visiting this year, it was not only the first but also the largest show of its kind in Germany.
I had a stall about my PhD project on the prohibition of egg donation at the show. Over the course of the two days, I had many insightful conversations with German couples who want to go abroad for an egg donations; policy makers; lawyers; reproductive clinicians and counsellors.
A detailed account will follow soon!
In the meantime, listen to my contribution in a report about the fertility show on the German public broadcast Radio 1.
