This year (2017), the first fertility show Kinderwunschtage took place in Berlin, Germany. It offered a space for people who are interested in fertility treatment to meet a large number of clinics, experts, patient networks and other relevant organisations in a single place. With over 1500 people visiting this year, it was not only the first but also the largest show of its kind in Germany.
Just four weeks after Germany had officially reunited in 1990, the new Parliament passed the Embryo Protection Act [EPA]. It regulates reproductive technologies, such as in-vitro fertilisation, egg and sperm donation, surrogacy, and scientific research on embryos and human embryonic stem cells.
